In 2007 folk musician Joshua Gardner teamed up with hip-hop producer Jacob Dahlke for one simple mission – to create a conceptual rock & roll album that delves deep into the well of 70’s rock, underground hip-hop, and “B” science fiction films.
Drawing together friends, family and co-workers they holed themselves up for a year; recording, writing and producing “Nineteen Action News”, a storybook in musical form. Telling the tale of the future – with the world preparing to be destroyed by an asteroid, the rich and powerful leaving for Mars and those left behind facing the coming extermination with thoughts of life and love and fear.
Rich in social metaphors, irony, and sarcasm, 19 Action News has blended together to create a remarkable debut, bursting with inspiration, and have established themselves as Cleveland Ohio’s premiere sci-fi underground rockers.
